Tahina Akther (Non-Executitve Director)

Tahina is the owner of boutique national law firm Wildcat Law; she is an experienced barrister with over 20 years in legal practice. Her career has spanned complex legal work across the sports, corporate, and private client sectors, and she is a recognised expert in family finance and chancery law. Tahina is also a media commentator and active contributor to national conversations on access to justice and diversity within the legal profession.

She joined Hampshire Cricket Board to help strengthen the sport’s reach, with a particular passion for ensuring cricket is inclusive and representative of the communities it serves. Her particular areas of interest include diversity and inclusion in sport, developing sustainable community programmes, and improving participation among underrepresented groups.

Chair of the Risk Committee, Tahina is particularly focussed upon governance frameworks, working in collaboration with the ECB, businesses, and other county boards.

A former director of a professional football club, Tahina brings strong strategic and governance expertise to the Board, along with a deep commitment to widening access and community-led sport development. She is also a mother of keen cricketers and has taken up the sport in adulthood herself.

Tahina was appointed in March 2025 for her first 3-year term. She chairs the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee and sits on the Nominations and HR Committee.
