A huge congratulations to our 2023 Cricket Collective Award winners!
This year, we recieved a record number of nominations for the Cricket Collective Awards 2023.
In total, 180 nominations were recieved across 11 categories which is amazing as it shows the hard work our volunteers are doing around Hampshire.
A huge congratulations to our county winners:
Connecting Communities – A club or community organisation which has gone above and beyond to #raisethegame and support communities/ groups - Jon Gray (Compton and Chandlers Ford CC)
Inspired to play – An individual or group within your club or community organisation going above and beyond to #raisethegame and open the game up to new audiences - Bronya Szatkowska (Brockenhurst CC)
Growing the Game – A league volunteer, committee member, or administrator going above and beyond to support clubs and help increase the number of games played - Martyn Ball (Sway CC)
Lifetime Achiever – That one individual who has given many years of service to your club or community group and who you could not do without - Peter Bonner (Beaulieu CC)
Cricket Innovators – Someone who has brought new ideas and/or implemented new systems to improve your club or community group - Mark Randell (Burridge CC)
Unsung Hero – Those heroes who impact our game from behind-the-scenes and help us make cricket happen - Andrew and Anne Lemonfides (Eversley CC)
Rising Star Award – A young volunteer making a difference in the game – for 11-16-year-olds - George Lemon (Locks Heath CC)
Game Changer – A young volunteer making a difference in the game – for 17-25-year-olds - Sara Yasin (Southampton Wicketz Programme)
Safe Hands Award – An individual that has gone above and beyond to create a positive and inclusive environment for young people to enjoy the game - Dawn Bowman (Hythe and Dibden CC)
Volunteer Grounds Management Team of the Year – An opportunity to reward and recognise those volunteers who are working hard and improving the places where the game is played - Nick Ranger and John Paine (Twyford CC)
Tackling Climate Change – A club or community organisation that is addressing the threat climate change poses to cricket, by making sustainable changes to operations, adapting their facilities and/or engaging and educating their local community - St John Cox (Odiham and Greywell CC)
All county winners have been sent to the England and Wales Cricket Board to be considered for the National Grassroots Cricket Collective Awards 2023 and will recieve an invitation to the event.
We look forward to welcoming the winners to the England vs New Zealand ODI on the 10th September at Utilita Bowl, where they will be presented with their framed certificate, personalised England shirt, and signed memorabilia.
