Throughout the summer term, children from across the county have been participating in local Dynamos festivals, organised by our dedicated School Games Organisers and Community Coaches. These festivals served as qualifiers for the highly anticipated County Finals, held last week at Utilita Bowl.
The finals began with a girls-only event on Tuesday 24th June, featuring 15 talented teams battling it out in the group stages for a place in the quarter-finals. With around 150 girls showcasing their skills, the level of competition was impressive, with many matches going right down to the wire. A huge congratulations goes to Weeke Primary School from Winchester, who emerged as champions after a thrilling day of cricket.
The excitement continued on Wednesday 25th June with the open event, welcoming 18 teams for another day packed with action and energy. The standard of play was outstanding, and it was inspiring to see all participants play with enthusiasm, respect, and true sportsmanship. Congratulations to Merdon Junior School from Chandler’s Ford, who claimed the top spot after a fantastic day in the sun.
“It was fantastic to see Utilita Bowl buzzing once again with so many young cricketers, all bringing energy, enthusiasm, and incredible skill to the field. The level of play across the county continues to impress, and it was inspiring to watch the children compete with such passion, teamwork, and sportsmanship—even in the face of some intense competition.
