Are you an ECB ACO-accredited Level 1 scorer looking to expand your experience? This course is designed for those considering scoring matches for multiple clubs and taking on new, longer formats of the game. While it does not cover additional scoring techniques, it focuses on the essential planning, preparation, and additional duties a scorer may need to perform away from their home club.
This course will help you develop the skills needed to manage scoring responsibilities in unfamiliar settings. Topics covered include:
Planning & Preparation – Key considerations when scoring for a new club or in unfamiliar surroundings.
Match Regulations – Understanding one-day cricket regulations, including follow-on, declarations, and the last hour.
Scoring Environment – Working conditions, scorebox design, and etiquette.
Interaction with Officials & Players – Understanding the key roles and responsibilities of those involved in the game.
Alternative Scoring Methods – Exploring different ways to record match details.
Producing Statistics – Learning how to compile and interpret match data.
Interpreting On-Field Events – Understanding how to record events accurately.
The Role of a Good Scorer – What makes an effective and reliable scorer?
After completing the course, scorers will need to score a minimum of 10 matches, applying the knowledge gained. A portfolio of evidence must be built and submitted for professional discussion and accreditation.
