Cricket clubs and volunteers are encouraged to book places on upcoming Safe Hands safeguarding workshops and first aid courses, helping to ensure cricket continues to be a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for everyone.
Both courses are vital in supporting player welfare and club responsibilities, with a range of dates and venues available across the county.
The face-to-face Safe Hands workshop, delivered by the local County Cricket Board, is a compulsory requirement for all Club Safeguarding Officers. It supports the online safeguarding module and focuses on practical guidance, discussion, and up-to-date best practice.
To meet ECB requirements, Club Safeguarding Officers must complete:
The Online Safeguarding Module
The Face-to-Face Safe Hands Workshop
An enhanced DBS check through the England and Wales Cricket Board
Safeguarding training must be renewed every three years.
