Recently, participant's on our urban programme took part in a range of activities and festivals which were thoroughly enjoyed by all.
On Wednesday 31st May, our Basingstoke Street programme travelled to Slough, Berkshire, for the regional Chance to Shine competition. 2 teams of 6 boys played a full day of cricket and thoroughly enjoyed the day!
On Thursday 1st June, the Southampton Wicketz programme took over St Mary's Fire Station, using their appliance bay as an indoor cricket pitch. 24 young people, aged 8-12, attended and each had a tour of the station, a go on the hoses and some had important discussions around fire safety.
On Friday 2nd June, this saw the first Southampton city tri-series event, between the successful Wicketz programme, Hawks Academy, and MCCF Boys U16 Hub. The teams took part in a three-team Hundred format tournament, in which the Hawks Academy took the trophy. All three programmes provide a vital playing pathway for young people in Southampton
