W10 Winter Competitions Reach Thrilling Conclusion

County Final Set for 6th April as W10 Continues to Grow

Throughout the winter, three W10 competitions have taken place across Hampshire at Gang Warily in Fawley, Dummer in Basingstoke, and West Hill Park School in Fareham. The competitions have seen thrilling matches, with teams battling for a place in the County Final on 6th April at Gang Warily Recreation Centre.

Dummer Competition
The Dummer competition featured 12 teams, split into two groups of six, competing in festival-style matches over six weeks. Following the group stages, the top six teams advanced to the Finals Festival, while the remaining six contested the Plate Festival. In the Plate Festival, Yateley emerged victorious after a hard-fought final against Alton. In the Cup Festival, Fair Oak edged out South Winchester in a close encounter to secure their place in the County Final.

Gang Warily Competition
At Gang Warily, five teams competed in a round-robin format. Cadnam came out on top, narrowly beating Twyford to claim victory. As reigning champions, Cadnam have now qualified for the County Finals for the second year running.

West Hill Park Competition
With 10 teams participating, the West Hill Park competition was split into two tiers. In Tier 2, Portchester finished top of the group, with Burridge securing second place. The final saw Burridge claim victory in a closely contested match, winning by just four runs. In the Tier 1 competition, Clanfield topped the group, followed by Locks Heath in second place on net run rate. However, in the final, Locks Heath emerged as convincing winners, securing their place in the County Final.

“It is great to see how W10 has continued to expand. When we first started W10, we just had one competition which took place at Dummer. We now have three competitions with 27 teams competing, which is absolutely amazing. No matter what your ability is, there is the opportunity to play cricket, and some of the friendships and friendly rivalries that have been formed between teams are fantastic to see. We now look forward to the summer with over 40 teams competing in either league, friendlies, or festivals.”
