Match abandoned without a ball bowled

Rain Thwarts Hampshire's Attempts For Fourth Consecutive 50-Over Win

Heavy overnight rain continued throughout the morning and left the County Ground outfield in a saturated state

Gloucestershire and Hampshire were frustrated by the elements when their Royal London Cup contest at Bristol was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Heavy overnight rain continued throughout the morning and left the County Ground outfield in a saturated state. Umpires Nick Cook and Paul Pollard staged three separate inspections before deciding that there had been no improvement and calling the game off at 3.43pm.

The two teams take a point apiece, meaning Hampshire relinquish their 100 per cent winning start to the campaign. But they remain top of the South Group table with seven points from four games.

Looking to bounce back following defeat to Surrey at the Kia Oval, Gloucestershire have five points from four games and remain well-placed to challenge for a semi-final spot.
