Joseph Eckland And Daisy Mullan Released
Keeper-batter Joseph Eckland and all-rounder Daisy Mullan will leave Hampshire Cricket on the expiration of their contracts
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have today announced the full Kia Super League fixtures for the 2018 campaign.
An expanded Kia Super League will mean a feast of T20 cricket next summer, with a total of 165 matches in the KSL and the Blast to be played in the 74 days between 4th July and 15th September.
After the success of the first two KSL seasons, all six teams, including the The Ageas Bowl-based Southern Vipers, will play each other home and away for the first time in 2018. Each team will play 10 matches rather than five in the battle to reach Finals Day, and the competition includes a total of 32 matches compared to last year’s 17, spanning 37 days from July 22 to August 27.
The Southern Vipers will get their 2018 campaign underway at Guildford as they take on Surrey Stars on Sunday 22nd July, whilst the opening home match will see Loughborough Lightning visit the The Ageas Bowl on Wednesday 25th July.
A trip to the Lancashire Thunder then follows before the Vipers take on reigning 2017 KSL champions, Western Storm, in a rematch of last season's final, at Arundel on Tuesday 31st July.
With the 2018 expanded KSL competition, the The Ageas Bowl will host three of the Vipers home fixtures - Yorkshire Diamonds on Wednesday 8th August, and the final fixture of the group stage against Lancashire Thunder on Saturday 18th August - intertwined with away fixtures against Yorkshire Diamonds, Loughborough Lightning and Western Storm.
This year's KSL Finals Day will again be hosted by Sussex at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove – on August 27 (Bank Holiday Monday).
