2023 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy Permutations

With one game remaining, find out how Southern Vipers can confirm qualification for this year's Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy knockouts

Southern Vipers have just one Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy group match left and their hopes of qualifying for the Eliminator are improved after a bonus point win against South East Stars on Wednesday.

The Vipers currently occupy second place with a trip to Loughborough to face table-topping The Blaze on Saturday 16th September, who were defeated by sixth-placed Sunrisers on Wednesday.

Georgia Adams’s side sit on 33 points from 13 matches, and are unbeaten in their previous five matches, with four wins – two of which with a bonus point – and one abandoned match.

Mathematically, Sunrisers in sixth place can qualify if results go their way, with just five points separating them and the Vipers in second.

If the Vipers beat The Blaze on Saturday, they are guaranteed a place in the Eliminator, with a bonus point win securing a home Eliminator at The Ageas Bowl on Thursday 21st September.

However, a big enough bonus point win could see the Vipers straight through to the final at Northampton on Saturday 24th September, if the net run rate (NRR) swing is great enough – The Blaze currently have a NRR of +0.470 with the Vipers on +0.265.

Bonus points are won if the winning team’s run rate is 1.25x or greater than their opposition.

A defeat to The Blaze on Saturday can still see the Vipers through to an away Eliminator.

South East Stars and Central Sparks, level on 31 points each, play eachother in the final round of fixtures, with the winner securing second place and a home Eliminator.

Northern Diamonds in fifth take on Sunrisers. Only a bonus point win with a huge swing in NRR will see Sunrisers overtake the Vipers on 33 points.

However, a victory for the Diamonds and a defeat for the Vipers will see the current RHFT holders through to third, overtaking the Vipers on 34 points to 33.

Seventh and eight placed Thunder and Western Storm play eachother but neither team can qualify for the Eliminator.

Summary
