Georgia Adams, Linsey Smith, and Danni Wyatt all included in England Development XI to play Pakistan Women
Vipers trio Georgia Adams, Linsey Smith, and Danni Wyatt have all been named in an England Development XI to play Pakistan Women on Thursday 9 May.
Smith and Wyatt are also included in England Women’s IT20 squad to take on Pakistan in their series from Saturday 11 May, whilst Adams toured New Zealand with England A.
The Vipers’ captain has had a strong start to the season, despite a finger injury, where she has scored 162 runs with two half-centuries, and taken six wickets with her off spin.
Smith too has had a stellar beginning to 2024, taking nine wickets at an average of 23.77, whilst Wyatt has featured just the once, in the Vipers’ enthralling four-run win against Western Storm at Bristol.
The ECB Development XI match opportunities provide us with real flexibility in an approach to selection. On this occasion, this T20 fixture is the only one of the summer against an international opposition outside of the various England Women bilateral series’ and therefore providing opportunities to a particularly strong playing XI is important as we continue to build with the bigger picture of the T20 World Cup in mind.

England Women, who are set to feature several Vipers players this summer, take on New Zealand at Utilita Bowl on Saturday 6 July.
