Pace Bowler Brad Wheal Extends His Stay At Hampshire
Hampshire and Scotland fast bowler Brad Wheal has extended his contract with the Rose and Crown
Southern Vipers all-rounder Alice Monaghan has extended her stay at The Ageas Bowl-based side.
Monaghan, 23, has signed a one year contract which means she will stay a Viper until at least the end of the 2024 season.
Born in Basingstoke, Monaghan first joined the Vipers in 2020 having previously played for Yorkshire Diamonds and Loughborough Lightning in the Women’s Cricket Super League in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

She featured in every match for the Vipers in their successful 2020 season, and also played a key part in winning the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy in 2021, and played 17 times in 2023 as the club completed an historic double.
Monaghan was awarded her first pro contract with the club in April 2023, along with four other players, and she responded by putting in career-best performances with both bat and ball, scoring 34* against Sunrisers, and taking 2-19 against South East Stars.
I’m thrilled to be staying at the Vipers and to be awarded my first year-long contract. I love being a part of this team and I look forward to being part of what will hopefully be another trophy-winning season in 2024.
Alice Monaghan

We are delighted to award Alice with a contract extension. She’s worked incredibly hard on her game over the past twelve months, and the return on her efforts are showing on the pitch. Alice has demonstrated explosive skills with ball and bat across the summer that’s suggested she’s a player of much potential, with a high ceiling. We look forward to seeing her progress further over the coming year.
