Southern Vipers can confirm that England centrally contracted players Lauren Bell, Charlie Dean, Freya Kemp, and Danni Wyatt will remain at the club.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has taken the decision to move away from a central allocation process for regional cricket, allowing England Women’s centrally contracted players to decide in conjunction with the regions where to play their regional cricket.
The decision has been taken in the context of the continuing professionalisation of the women’s regional game.

Along with Bell, Dean, Kemp and Wyatt, Southern Vipers can also call upon professionals Georgia Adams, Maia Bouchier, Anya Shrubsole, Georgia Elwiss, Emily Windsor, Ella McCaughan, and Linsey Smith as they make up the seven professional contracts that were signed on 1st November 2022.
Southern Vipers are in the process of recruiting a further three professionals after the ECB announced an increase in funding for professional women’s cricket in October 2022.
