Southern Vipers Lauren Bell, Charlie Dean and Danni Wyatt have been named in England's ODI squad to take on South Africa
Southern Vipers bowlers Lauren Bell and Charlie Dean, along with batter Danni Wyatt, have been included in England's ODI squad to take on South Africa.
Batter Maia Bouchier and all-rounder Freya Kemp are also included in the England A squad to play South Africa in a T20 warmup match at Sophia Gardens on Monday 4th July.
Head Coach Lisa Keightley said: “Although these South Africa ODIs don’t form part of the ICC Women’s Championship, we are at the beginning of a new three-year cycle, which is so exciting.
“We have to keep looking forward and trying to improve as a team, and we were so delighted with the energy and skill that the four debutants brought in the LV= Insurance Test match.
“I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing something similar in the Royal London Series and throughout the rest of the summer, with new players putting their hands up to win games for England and selection becoming tougher and tougher as more players make a case to be included.”
A separate squad for England Women A’s 50-over warm-up against South Africa on Friday July 8 will be announced in due course, as will the squad for the Vitality IT20 series leg of England Women’s multi-format series against South Africa.
