Match Preview: Hampshire Men v Durham, Rothesay County Championship
Hampshire Men return Rothesay County Championship action against Durham at Utilita Bowl over May Bank Holiday weekend
Southern Vipers bowlers Lauren Bell and Charlie Dean, along with batter Danni Wyatt, have all been named in England Women’s ODI squad to play Australia in the final three matches of the Women’s Ashes.
Last week, second Women’s Ashes ODI at The Ageas Bowl sold out, with the other matches at Taunton and Bristol also reaching record sales, as – for the first time ever – a women’s ODI series in England is fully sold out.
All three players have featured in the Women’s Ashes as England completed a first IT20 series victory against Australia for the first time since 2017, winning the final two matches at The Oval and Lord’s to remain in with a shout of winning the Women’s Ashes for the first time since 2013-14.
Fast bowler Bell took three wickets in the thrilling Test match, whilst Wyatt, on debut, scored a first Test fifty as England narrowly missed out on victory.
Wyatt was England’s leading run scorer in the three IT20s with 109 runs including an exhilarating 76 at The Oval which saw England record their highest-ever IT20 score against Australia.
Lauren Bell took four wickets, the joint second most for England, whilst Dean took two wickets in as many games.
Record crowds have been recorded across all four matches of the Women’s Ashes so far, as ticket sales for the Women’s Ashes are more than double those across all of England Women’s matches in 2022.
England Women need to win all three ODIs in order to win the Women’s Ashes, and will be spurred on by capacity crowds at Bristol, The Ageas Bowl, and Taunton.
Following the announcement that the second Women’s Ashes ODI at The Ageas Bowl has sold out, the only way to watch the game is by securing a pitch-facing bedroom at Hilton at The Ageas Bowl.
