Utilita Bowl is the home of Hampshire Cricket and Southern Brave, whilst also being a host venue for England Cricket internationals.

In 2024, Hampshire Cricket finished second in the Vitality County Championship, reached the knock-out stage of the Metro Bank One Day Cup and hosted seven action-packed Vitality Blast fixtures as Hampshire Hawks.

Southern Vipers went into their final season as the ‘Vipers’, reaching both Charlotte Edwards Cup and Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy semi-finals.

Southern Brave Men finished Runners-Up in The Hundred after hosting four spectacular double header matchdays at Utilita Bowl with the Women’s side in July & August.

Both England Men & Women hosted sold-out IT20 cricket at the venue based just outside Southampton. England Women welcomed New Zealand, before England Men hosted Ashes rivals Australia.

In 2025, England return for three international fixtures, including Men's fixtures against West Indies and South Africa, as well as England Women hosting India.

Ben Brown Signs Contract Extension Until 2026

Hampshire Cricket captain Ben Brown has committed his future to the club by signing a one-year contract extension that will keep him at Utilita Bowl until 2026.

The 36-year-old wicket-keeper batsman stepped into the County Championship captaincy role in 2025 and has led the team through a challenging transitional period in Division One.

Since joining Hampshire in 2022, Brown has featured 81 times for the club across the County Championship and One Day Cup formats, establishing himself as a reliable performer both behind the stumps and with the bat.

"I've had such a great time playing here," said Brown. "I've been treated really well here and I've really enjoyed it. It's been in the making for a while, but I'm really happy and looking forward to another summer."

Brown's experience will prove crucial as Hampshire continue to develop their young bowling attack and navigate the demands of Division One cricket. The extension provides stability as the club looks to build on their strong foundations heading into the 2026 season.

Ben stepped into the County Championship captaincy role in 2025 and has stood up to the challenge brilliantly. His leadership on the field, combined with his skills as both wicket-keeper and batsman, makes him invaluable to our Championship team. Securing him until 2026 ensures continuity as we build for the future.
