Adam Wheater and Gareth Berg were awarded their Hampshire county caps before the Specsavers County Championship match against Lancashire at the The Ageas Bowl.
Adam Wheater joined Hampshire from Essex in 2013 and, after two impressive seasons both with the bat and behind the stumps, Wheater was awarded with a new three-year contract extension in July 2014.
Wheater contributed with nearly 1100 runs during the 2015 season in all formats, hitting two important centuries. His 111 was vital in helping Hants secure their first Championship win of the year at Hove in June.
Wheater scored his highest first-class score in July, compiling a majestic double-ton for Hampshire against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
Berg signed for Hampshire ahead of their 2015 campaign and enjoyed a hugely impressive first season with both the ball and the bat, contributing in all formats. His 42 wickets at an average of 28 and 672 runs in the lower order proved vital as Hampshire avoided relegation from Division One.
The all-rounder was recognised for his efforts by winning the Paris Smith Fans’ Player of the Year Award and the Ageas Players’ Player of the Year Awards at the Club’s End of Season Awards Dinner.
