Today we mark the birthday of young Hampshire batsman, Aneurin Donald, born in Swansea on 20th December 1996.
Donald is a right-handed top-order batsman and arrived at Hampshire from Glamorgan on an initial loan for the 2018 season, before committing to a long-term deal in 2019.
His first full season at the club helped Hampshire secure a third-place County Championship finish and a Lord's final, scoring 888 runs along the way including a blissful 173 against Warwickshire in July.
A destructive white-ball player, Donald featured in every Vitality Blast fixture of his debut season, registering a strike-rate of 138.10, before injury last winter kept him sidelined during 2020.
He previously featured for England U19s as a youngster, playing alongside current Hampshire teammates Brad Taylor, Mason Crane, Tom Alsop and Joe Weatherley in his 13 youth international appearances.
