Wicketkeeper Calvin Dickinson was born in South Africa in 1996, but was educated on the Isle of Wight and at St Edward’s School Oxford. He played for Worcestershire 2nd XI in 2015, Essex 2nd XI in 2016 and came to Hampshire in 2017.
While at Oxford Brooks, he made his first-class debut for Oxford University MCCU v Worcestershire in 2016, and in 2017, made his debut for Hampshire v South Africa ‘A’ and became the only man to score 99 on first-class debut for the county.
He played in one Championship match at Uxbridge as a batsman later in the season. He played more regularly at the top of the order in T20 matches, scoring 51 at Canterbury.
