Match Preview: Durham v Hampshire Women, Metro Bank One Day Cup
Hampshire Women travel up to the north east to face Durham with a win securing a spot in the semi-finals
Hampshire Cricket pace bowler Scott Currie has signed a loan deal with Leicestershire for the remaining three matches of the LV= Insurance County Championship.
Currie, 22, last featured in First-Class cricket for Hampshire at The Oval in 2021 where he took best figures of 4-109.
In the 2023 Metro Bank One-Day Cup, where Hampshire and Leicestershire will feature in the final at Trent Bridge on Saturday 16 September, Currie has so far taken 11 wickets in seven matches – the second most for Hampshire this year.
In the previous edition of the tournament, Currie also ended the Cup as Hampshire’s second-leading wicket taker, along with scoring 128 runs which included a quickfire 43* against Worcestershire.
These final matches of the season will give Scott some valuable, competitive game time that we unfortunately haven’t been able to afford him this year. He is a big part of our plans for the future and this is an opportunity to accelerate his development as a red ball player.
