Hampshire’s Pre-Season Calendar Confirmed
Hampshire’s men and women will be going on tour in March with trips to Stellenbosch and Desert Springs, and five warm up matches
Hampshire Cricket are delighted to announce that all-rounder Brad Taylor has signed a new contract extension with the club.
Taylor, a product of the Hampshire youth system who featured for the club’s age-group and Academy sides as a youngster, has committed his future to the The Ageas Bowl until at least the end of the 2021 season.
After enjoying a breakout Royal London One-Day campaign in 2018, in which he contributed with both bat and ball in the victorious 50-over campaign, the 22-year-old played a pivotal role as part of a strong Hampshire Second XI side throughout this summer.
Taylor totalled 495 runs at an average of 99.00 with the bat and claimed five wickets at less than 33 apiece with the ball in five Second XI Championship matches this year, making key contributions as the squad secured a sixth Second XI Championship title and first since 2001. Despite his season being cut short due to injury, the right-armer also featured in two Vitality Blast matches and a List A contests this year.
We’re really pleased that Brad has committed his future to Hampshire. He is a promising all-rounder that has come through the ranks, contributing in all three disciplines in recent years - we feel he fits really well with the make-up of the group and if he continues to develop, I’m confident that he will play a big part over the coming seasons.
Giles White, Director Of Cricket
I love playing for Hampshire and I’m really pleased to commit to the club for another two years. We’ve got an exciting group and I’m looking forward to working hard this winter and ensuring my game is in a good place to push on for a regular spot in the side next season.
Brad Taylor
Taylor became the youngest Hampshire player in 146 years to feature for the Club when making his debut in August 2013, aged just 16.
The off-spinning all-rounder has also represented England U19s as a youngster, featuring in three Tests and 22 ODI’s whilst also skippering their tour of Sri Lanka in 2015.
The best way to catch Brad and the rest of the Hampshire squad in action all season long is with a 2020 Hampshire Cricket Membership.
More information on each Membership offering can be found online via the link below, over the phone on 02380 472002 (Opt. 2) or in person at the The Ageas Bowl Ticket Office (Mon-Fri: 9am-5pm).
