Rod received his OBE for services to sport from HRH The Princess Royal on Tuesday 22 July at Windsor Castle, a fitting recognition for the man who transformed Hampshire Cricket  into one of the most successful counties in English cricket. His vision, passion, and unwavering commitment over more than two decades have been nothing short of extraordinary.

Rod's incredible achievements

Saved Hampshire CricketRod rescued Hampshire Cricket from insolvency in 2000, as the club faced rising costs associated with their proposed stadium move.

Built a thriving community destination - Rod established Utilita Bowl as a 150-acre hub featuring the stadium, hotel, golf course and spa. Rod's entrepreneurial background and business expertise have been instrumental in transforming the business of cricket in Hampshire and across the country. His commitment to innovation has set the standard within cricket and created lasting change across the sport. The announcement that Utilita Bowl will host both Men’s and Women’s Ashes Tests over the next six years is the ultimate validation of Rod's vision for the stadium to host the world’s biggest and most historic cricket event.

Rod set out with clear objectives: to create teams that could compete in all formats, develop the stadium into an established international ground, and build a business that would safeguard Hampshire Cricket's future. He has achieved all of this and so much more.

From all of us at Hampshire Cricket - thank you, Rod! Your legacy will inspire generations of cricketers and fans. This richly deserved honour recognises not just what you've done for Hampshire, but for cricket as a whole.
