With the 2022 season now firmly in the rear-view mirror, we're taking a look back at some of the performances that caught the eye throughout Southern Vipers' successful Charlotte Edwards Cup campaign.
Despite having three current England internationals in their side, Thunder could muster up only 94 in their innings at Old Trafford, with Charlie Dean leading the way with the ball having taken 3-16.
After a relatively slow start by the Vipers, losing both openers in the powerplay, all-rounder Georgia Elwiss played the starring role with the bat, as the Vipers chased down 95 to win.
Taking her time to get going thanks to tidy bowling from Kate Cross, Alex Hartley, and Laura Jackson, Elwiss soon got into the groove with a sweep off the former England left arm spinner.
In the same over, Elwiss came down the wicket and heaved Hartley over midwicket for four at the end of the 12th, as the Vipers went to 67-3.
She then drove another left arm spinner, Sophie Ecclestone this time, through point for four, and victory was all but secured with just 14 runs to win with over 6 overs to go.
With the score on 88-4, Elwiss then whipped Cross through the on side for another boundary, before she sealed a bonus point victory by driving Jackson through extra cover for four in the 16th over.
