Hampshire’s Pre-Season Calendar Confirmed
Hampshire’s men and women will be going on tour in March with trips to Stellenbosch and Desert Springs, and five warm up matches
With the 2022 season now firmly in the rear-view mirror, we're taking a look back at some of the performances that caught the eye throughout Southern Vipers' successful Charlotte Edwards Cup campaign.
Choosing to bat first against Northern Diamonds at Chester-le-Street, at 40-0 in the fifth over, the Vipers were cruising to a strong total.
However, only three players made it past double figures as bowling attack made up of new signing Linsey Smith, experienced spinner Katie Levick, and England’s premier all-rounder Nat Sciver, dented what was a lightning start by the Vipers.
Tara Norris came in for Charlie Dean, but she couldn't offer her usual lower order support as Danni Wyatt became the mainstay of the innings
The trailblazing opener sored 48 from 43 balls, a fairly restrained innings for a player of her nature.
But it was exactly what the Vipers needed. With wickets falling around, Wyatt kept her calm and anchored the visitors’ innings, to a defendable total of 126.
Wyatt’s knock paid off, as the Vipers came out on top by just 11 runs.
