Southern Vipers captain Charlotte Edwards was part of an exciting launch event this week, where the winners of England's four major domestic competitions showcased their silverwear ahead of the start of the new 2017 season.
Edwards, who led the Vipers to the inaugural Kia Super League title last year, was on-hand to discuss the prospects for the upcoming campaign, alongside ECB Director of England Women's Cricket, Clare Connor.
It’s a visual reminder for the game that we now have four major trophies on offer in our domestic season.
Clare Connor
We were all delighted by the impact made in the first KSL season, culminating in Charlotte and the Southern Vipers beating Western Storm on Finals Day at Chelmsford, and we’re excited by the prospects for 2017. It’s brilliant for the women's game to see the KSL sitting alongside all the other competitions and series that are coming up in England and Wales this summer.
After the success of the first Kia Super League competitionlast summer, the second season will see six teams taking part in a round-robin competition over a 17-day period and across 13 different venues from Thursday 10 August to Saturday 26 August.
The competition will then climax in a showcase finals day on Friday 1 September at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove.
