Hampshire players selected in England Women Pathway squads
England Women have announced the Performance Programme intake U19 Training squad for the 2025/26 winter, with a total of five Hampshire players included.
Former England captain and Southern Vipers head coach Charlotte Edwards has been appointed head coach of Mumbai Indians in the upcoming inaugural Women’s Premier League (WPL).
Mumbai Indians also announced Indian legend Jhulan Goswami as bowling coach and mentor, along with Devika Palshikar as batting coach.
Edwards said in a statement: “I am looking forward to working with Jhulan [and] Devika. We will work closely together to understand the MI culture, the ethos and playing the MI way.
“We want players to perform to their potential and also give them a platform to develop and succeed, something Mumbai Indians are known for. I can’t wait to get started.”
As a coach, Edwards has led the Southern Vipers to three domestic titles – two Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophies (2020, 2021) and one Charlotte Edwards Cup (2022) – and has coached the Southern Brave women’s team to consecutive Hundred finals at Lord’s.

The WPL player auction will play out on Monday 13th February, with 90 players expected to be sold during the day-long auction.
Each team has a purse of ₹12 crore (approx. US$1.46m), and each team can buy a minimum of 15 players to a maximum of 18, with seven overseas players, including one from an Associate nation.
Up to five overseas players can be selected in a playing XI, so long as one is from an Associate country.
The inaugural WPL season will consist of 22 matches with each team playing eight matches along with an eliminator-style semi-final between second and third place, with the top placed team progressing straight to the final.
