Clean Sweep For St Cross

St Cross Symondians Cricket Club (Winchester) carried off all three club championships, becoming the first club to do the county treble.

The under 11 girls repeated their group stages win over Rowledge to scoop the first Brian King Cup after both progressed from the group stages contested by eight clubs.

The competition was named in memory of the legendary girls cricket coach renowned for his work at school, club and district level.

Aldershot under 13s posted 76 after reaching  the knock out final, but the Winchester club chased the target down with an over to spare.

In the under 16 final St Cross set Alton a challenging 119, but with an over to go the north Hampshire side needed just eight to win.

Tight bowling and batting retirements sent the third trophy south by just 1 run, and St Cross will be hoping for further success in the Lady Taverners under 13 and under 15 competitions.
