Dawson Included In England Squads For Sri Lanka Tour And Provisional T20 World Cup
Hampshire all-rounder Liam Dawson has been selected for England's white-ball tour of Sri Lanka and the provisional squad for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026.
With the 2022 season now firmly in the rear-view mirror we're taking a look back at some of the performances that caught the eye throughout the campaign.
Left-hander Nick Gubbins scored twin centuries in a LV=CC match for the first time in his career against an extremely talented Lancashire bowling attack featuring James Anderson and Pakistan's Hasan Ali.
Gubbins followed his first innings 101* with a majestic 130 which gave his side a substantial score and set Lancashire 351 runs to win.
The 28-year-old paired nicely with winter acquisition Ben Brown for a 144 run partnership.
Gubbins reached the landmark from his 218th delivery, a typically stylish shot through the covers off Ali went to the boundary.
After punching the air and embraced Brown, Gubbins then took off his helmet and raised his bat to the dressing room.
Unfortunately due to a washed out final day, Hampshire couldn't push home thier advantage but it would be a match Gubbins looks back on with immense pride.
