County Championship Rewind: Wheal’s Match Haul Pushes Hampshire To Victory

Brad Wheal took seven wickets against Yorkshire as Hampshire secured a two-wicket victory in the County Championship at The Ageas Bowl

With the 2022 season now firmly in the rear-view mirror we're taking a look back at some of the performances that caught the eye throughout the campaign.

Wheal took the final four wickets in Yorkshire’s first innings, first having Thompson caught by captain Vince at slip.

The Scot then trapped Revis LBW for just ten.

West Indian Drakes was the next man to fall to Wheal, Ben Brown taking a stunning catch way above his head with one hand from a short delivery by Wheal, which took the glove.

Patterson was the last man to fall, Wheal bowling the Yorkshire captain for just one to finish with figures of 4/59.

Yorkshire managed 428 in their first innings; Hampshire replied with 410.

Yorkshire only scored 178 in their second innings, Wheal taking the wickets of Waite, Thompson, and finally Patterson again to finish with match figures of 7/91.
