How Did Back To Cricket Work?

Duncan Johnson, Ellingham Cricket Club's Back To Cricket organiser, explained that current club members played an active role in the open evenings.  "Team captains gave the new players a warm welcome and will be a familiar face at training and matches. Seven players makes a real difference to a club of our size," Duncan added. 

So Why Come Back To Cricket?

"work stress"  "my sons play"  "my doctor advised me to take more exercise"  "there's a good social scene"  "my children are growing up so I have more time"  "I've played three games in 20 years"  "I haven't played since I was at school"

What Did The Club Do?

The club advertised three "Back To Cricket" open evenings in the run up to the new cricket season.  They distributed flyers, used social media to promote the sessions, and asked current club members to bring a friend and spread the message by word of mouth.
