Emily Windsor Awarded Natasha Marisa Trophy

Natasha Marisa was a former Hampshire captain who helped fundraise for families dealing with a cancer diagnosis

Hampshire and Southern Vipers batter Emily Windsor has been awarded the Natasha Marisa trophy for the second year running, after her outstanding performances season in 2022.

Windsor is the captain of Hampshire Women, and has played 99 times for her county at senior level, plus a further 48 times at junior level, and has scored over 1,600 runs for her county with eight half-centuries.

Hampshire and Vipers batter Windsor also played a huge role in the successes of Southern Vipers and the Oval Invincibles, as she led the way with the bat in the Vipers’ Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy campaign, along with hitting the winning runs at Lord’s as the Invincibles won back-to-back Hundred titles.

Natasha was a Hampshire batter, who played 38 times for her county at senior level, where she scored nearly 1,500 runs, and 73 times in total for Hampshire between 2004 and 2016.

Sadly, Natasha passed away in September 2021 after being diagnosed with breast cancer, aged just 29.

She was treated for many years at the TYAC (Teenage and Young Adults with Cancer) unit at The Royal County Hospital in Surrey, and she helped raise money over the years for other families dealing with a cancer diagnosis to help them make memories on fun days out.

£27,000 has now been raised for TYAC in Natasha’s name, and in August 2022, Cove Cricket Club, where Natasha first started playing, hosted a 100-ball tournament where over £9,000 was raised.

Natasha’s family are aiming to make the tournament an annual event, and they thank the Hampshire Cricket Board for their help in making the tournament a success.
