Emma McClarkin Appointed Non-Executive Board Director 

Twice elected as Member of the European Parliament and former Government Relations Executive at the Rugby Football Union, McClarkin has been appointed a Non-Executive Director of Hampshire Stadium Limited

As part of a wider restructure of its operating subsidiaries, RB Sport and Leisure Holdings Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Emma McClarkin as a Non-Executive Director of Hampshire Stadium Limited, a company which will amalgamate the operations of several existing group companies and focus on the development and commercial operation of The Ageas Bowl stadium. The appointment will be effective from 1st April, 2021. 

McClarkin will bring extensive experience to the remodelled and renamed Company, assisting the current and new Members of the Board with strategic input and helping to shape future activities. She will attend all Board meetings as a voting director. 

McClarkin is currently Chief Executive of the British Beer and Pub Association and is a well-known international trade specialist. 

Twice elected as Member of the European Parliament from 2009-2019, she held positions as Lead Coordinator on the International Trade Committee in Brussels and a Member of the World Trade Organisation Steering Group. Prior to this, she worked for the Rugby Football Union as Government Relations Executive.

As a member of the Culture, Education and Sport Committee, McClarkin has also worked prolifically to improve good governance in sport, including campaigning to reform FIFA and address match fixing in football. Her campaigning and work with grassroots sports led her to be awarded MEP of the Year for Sport and Physical Activity in 2016.

Post Parliament, McClarkin has worked on Global Sport Policy with the Sports Integrity Global Alliance and has spoken on Sport Integrity worldwide.

We are delighted to have someone of Emma’s experience and standing on the Board of Hampshire Stadium Limited. She will undoubtedly help to shape our strategies for the continuing development of this amazing stadium and will further enhance the governance of the Company.
