Eoin Morgan's side impressed against West Indies as Pakistan thrash India
England made a winning start to their Men's T20 World Cup campaign with a comprehensive victory over West Indies.
Spinner Adil Rashid finished with figures of 4-2 while Southern Brave seamer Tymal Mills claimed an impressive 2-17 on his return to the side.
West Indies were dismissed for 55 with Chris Gayle was the only West Indies batter to reach double figures.
Opener Jos Buttler finished unbeaten on 24 as the chase was completed four wickets down and with 11.4 overs to spare.
While England tasted success India suffered a huge 10 wicket defeat to rivals Pakistan in their opening match of the tournament.
Former Hampshire fast-bowler Shaheen Afridi took 3-31 as Virat Kohli made 57 to lead India to 151-7.
In reply, Mohammad Rizwan made an unbeaten 78 and captain Babar Azam 68 not out as Pakistan registered their first win over India at a World Cup.
Australia and Sri Lanka were also victorious over the weekend with wins over South Africa and Bangladesh respectively.
The Ageas Bowl will play host to England in two Vitality IT20s next year, against India on Thursday 7 July and South Africa on Sunday 31 July.
