Hampshire fans have voted Felix Organ’s highest First-Class score of 118 against Gloucestershire at Cheltenham as their favourite Felix performance from 2022.
With both counties agreeing to curtail the opening day by 90 minutes due to the sheer heat, both sides wanted to make the most of the weather and bat first at Cheltenham College.
It was Hampshire, and Felix Organ in particular, who capitalised on the conditions, as the opener finished on 93* at the end of the shortened first day.
Organ struck two boundaries off Tom Price before back to back cover drives off Zak Chappell, with the half-century opening stand being brought up in the 15th over with another boundary off the loanee bowler.
Gloucestershire then turned to spin, but Organ pounced on anything short from Zafar Gohar, and brought up a fifty of his own with a pull shot off the left armer.
Although the boundaries dried up for Organ, much like the weather, he drove a full ball from Josh Shaw back down the ground before once again cutting away a couple of short balls from Gohar.
Three boundaries in an over off part-time spinner Ollie Price then followed, before a cover drive off Ryan Higgins to bring up the 200.
Early into the second day, Organ brought up his century with a clip off his legs, as Hampshire were on their way to a commanding total.
The opener carried on his merry way with a drive off Higgins, and soon surpasses his previous high score, eventually finishing on 118.
