Fans had the chance to vote for their favourite Keith Barker moment from the 2022 season in the free Hampshire Cricket App, available on iOS and Android devices
Hampshire fans have voted Keith Barker’s 6-27 against Somerset as their favourite moment of the all-rounder’s 2022 season.
Barker’s best figures of 2022 was the clear winner, capturing 57.1% of the vote, as his six wickets helped bowl Somerset out for just 69 to set up a ten-wicket victory in Taunton.
The left-armer picked up his first wicket in just his fourth over, pinning Matt Renshaw lbw for 11, before running riot around the Somerset batting line-up.
Next to fall was Abell, caught behind for a couple as he feathered one to Ben Brown down the leg side.
Barker then followed it up with two in an over, first bowling Hildreth with a searing in-swinging yorker, before producing the same ball to Lewis Gregory who got his pads in the way, but the umpire raised the finger, and the home side found themselves at 25-6.
The all-rounder then picked up his fifth wicket, bowling Craig Overton with another in-swinger from round the wicket, before Josh Davey left a ball that cannoned into his off stump, and the home side were bowled out for 69, leaving Hampshire just one run for victory.
