First Team Injury Update

The latest on Hampshire's first team players recovering from injury

Lewis McManus

Lewis McManus sustained an injury during day two of Hampshire's Specsavers County Championship fixture against Lancashire.

After subsequent scans and consulting with a specialist, it was determined that Lewis has sustained a fracture to the index finger of his right-hand and he underwent successful surgery on Thursday 10th August.

This injury will keep Lewis sidelined until mid-October and he will miss the remainder of the season.

Rilee Rossouw

Rilee Rossouw suffered discomfort on his right-hand following the pre-match warm ups of Hampshire's NatWest T20 Blast match against Essex Eagles.

Subsequent scans revealed that the left-hander had sustained a fracture to the index finger of his right-hand and he underwent successful surgery on Thursday 10th August.

This injury will keep Rilee sidelined until mid-October and he will miss the remainder of the season.

Brad Taylor

Brad Taylor sustained a lateral ligament sprain to his right ankle during a practice session at the The Ageas Bowl in July.

After wearing a protective boot in the weeks following the injury, Brad's recovery is progressing nicely and he no longer requires the boot, which has allowed him to start fully weight-bearing gym activity.

Ryan Stevenson

Ryan Stevenson is currently suffering from discomfort in his lower back, connected to a stress reaction suffered to the area last season.

He has been shut down for a six week period and will be seeing a specialist in due course.

Reece Topley

After undergoing scans in July, it was determined that seamer Reece Topley had sustained a recurrence of a stress fracture to his back.

Reece will have a second appointment with a specialist shortly and he has been shut down from all activity for a six week period.
