MATCH PREVIEW
Warwickshire v Hampshire
Specsavers County Championship Division One
10 – 13 July (11:00 - 18:00)
Edgbaston
Hampshire will look to extend their five-match unbeaten run against Warwickshire when they take on the third-placed side at Edgbaston in the Specsavers County Championship on Sunday.
Hampshire Squad:
Will Smith is set to continue his duties as stand-in four-day skipper in James Vince’s absence, having led Hampshire to a convincing draw against his former club, Durham. He and Jimmy Adams built a 160-run opening stand in an impressive first innings performance with the bat.
Promising young batsman Tom Alsop has once again been included in Hampshire’s 12-man squad, which includes four-day specialist James Tomlinson.
The Opposition:
Spinner Jeetan Patel is Warwickshire’s main bowling threat, having taken ten wickets in his team’s 10-wicket victory over Surrey.
With a wealth of international experience between them, Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott are capable of scoring heavily with the bat. Trott scored 123 runs at Guildford last week.
