The Hampshire Cricket College, formerly known as the Elite International Cricket Academy, has opened its doors to a new academic year welcoming fifteen new students who join the ten students who now move into their second year.
The unique College for teenagers aged 16-18 years old provides an extended diploma BTEC in Sport, whilst also focusing on developing students’ cricket abilities within the world-class facilities at the The Ageas Bowl.
After a winter of training eight hours per week on their cricketing skills in the The Ageas Bowl Indoor Cricket School, alongside gaining a wealth of knowledge in their diploma for Sport, students of the Hampshire Cricket College will enter the summer with various competitive cricket fixtures ahead of them against prestigious cricketing schools including Millfield College, Lancing College and Portsmouth Grammar School just to name a few.
Sam Bracey, Head of Hampshire Cricket College, looked ahead to the academic years ahead, confident that all students will advance significantly towards a rewarding career from their time spent at the The Ageas Bowl.
The new intake are a talented group who should excel over the next two years, both academically and on the field. The recent news of a former pupil being offered a contract at Durham CCC, as well as accepting a place at Durham University should inspire all Hampshire Cricket College students.
