Following the overwhelming popularity of the first auction’s lots which attracted generous bids of more than £15,500, more than 25 new items have been open for bidding with lots including a seven-night Caribbean holiday, exclusive experiences and a range of signed memorabilia.
All proceeds raised will continue to help support the work of Southampton Hospitals Charity, which raises life-changing funds for University Hospital Southampton by enhancing the care, experience and outcomes for thousands of patients every year.
The auctions are part of a number of fundraising initiatives implemented through a partnership between Hampshire Cricket and University Hospital Southampton, efforts which resulted in a donation of more than £50,000 being made to Southampton Hospitals Charity last year.
These funds have directly supported the construction of a new rehabilitation space at University Hospital Southampton’s General Intensive Care Unit, enhancing the care, experience and outcomes for thousands of patients at the facility.
We’re delighted to be raising funds for such a worthwhile cause and very grateful to everyone who has supported the online auction. It’s very important to us to be able to support key community projects such as this, and we will be continuing our efforts through the course of the summer and hoping to raise as much as we can to help fund completion of the project.
