Australian all-rounder Michael Neser and batter Jake Lehmann join Hampshire for the 2026 season
James Vince warmed up for the upcoming North-South Series in excellent style as he struck a fluent century on a high-scoring day at the ICC Academy in Dubai.
The South side fieldied first in their first warm-up fixture in Dubai against UAE, with Vince joined in the starting XI by fellow Hampshire teammates, Mason Crane, Liam Dawson and Tom Alsop.

Crane claimed an important scalp, whilst Dawson also bowled well on a flat wicket, as UAE reached 343-9 from their 50 overs first up.
Dawid Malan, fresh from his triumph in the Pakistan Super League, laid a sound platform with 79 from 71 balls, sharing a second-wicket stand of exactly 100 with Vince – who went on to make an unbeaten 125 from 85 balls with 14 fours and four sixes before retiring to give the South’s middle-order some time at the crease.

His side ended up claiming victory by five wickets and 10 balls to spare, with handy contributions coming from fellow Hampshire batsman Alsop (29*) and Kent's Sam Northeast (38).
Whilst the fixture didn't have List A status, Vince looked ready to stake his claims for an England white-ball recall in the North-South Series – which will be watched by England head coach Trevor Bayliss and all three selectors.
