The draw for the inaugural Vitality T20 Women’s County Cup has been completed.
The T20 knockout tournament will feature 37 teams across all three tiers of the new women’s domestic structure in England and Wales.
The format sees three rounds before a quarter final stage, and a Finals Day on 26 May at the Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton.
Hampshire, along with the seven other Tier 1 women’s teams, will enter the cup at the third round, which will take place on Saturday 17 May, where the Hawks will travel to Surrey.
The knockout nature of the Vitality T20 Women’s County Cup will give counties in Tiers 2 and 3 the chance to pull off a giant-killing against fully professional Tier 1 sides, with the draw offering potentially intriguing routes to Finals Day for a number of teams.
Two all Tier 1 ties in Round Three means the competition will be guaranteed at least two teams from Tiers 2 or 3 in the quarter-finals.
The competition will take place across May, utilising Bank Holidays at the beginning and end of the month, and will signal the first domestic silverware of 2025.
