Hampshire Women have announced their 13-man squad to face Essex in the much anticipated T20 double-header at the The Ageas Bowl on Friday.
Wicket-keeper batsman Naomi Lynch will captain the side, having led Hampshire to an accomplished five-wicket victory over Worcestershire at the weekend, and Katie George of the Southern Vipers has been included in the squad.
Friday's T20 double-header sees Hampshire Women take on Essex Women at 1.30pm, before Hampshire men clash with the Essex Eagles at 7pm as the NatWest T20 Blast returns to the The Ageas Bowl.
Hampshire will be boosted by their preparations in the NatWest Women's T20 Cup at Barnt Green, Worcestershire on Sunday, having produced an effective bowling perfromance against Surrey and a strong all-round effort in their 5-wicket triumph over Worcestershire.
Skipper Lynch led from the front against Worcestershire, scoring 26 runs off 22 balls and taking three catches behind the stumps, as Hants bowler Rachel Carrick (2-10) delivered an impressive performance with the ball.
Batsman Charlotte Taylor (20) and Vipers all-rounder George (21) supplied an encouraging opening stand of 39 runs, providing more positivity ahead of Friday's clash with Essex.
