All-rounder Keith Barker has been voted Player of the Month for May by Hampshire fans, as part of a new vote presented in partnership with Domino's.
The left-hander secured 48.7% of the vote, beating second-placed Aneurin Donald by more than three times the number of votes.
Despite Barker only playing two matches in May, he still brought home nearly half of the public vote.
The left-armer had a modest return against Gloucestershire at The Ageas Bowl, picking up just the one wicket and 24 runs in the match, but it was his rampant performance against Somerset which stuck in the minds of Hampshire fans, as Barker was once again topping the wickets charts with a stunning spell of 6-27 to help bowl the home side out for just 69.
Wicketless in the first innings, Barker set about trapping Australian Matt Renshaw for his first wicket of the match, before strangling Somerset captain Tom Abell down the leg side for two.
Two wickets then fell in the same over, as Barker first bowled James Hildreth for a single before he rapped Lewis Gregory infront of all three stumps to trap him plumb LBW just two balls later.
Craig Overton was the next man to go, looking for a drive but Barker made use of the gap between bat and pad to clatter into off stump, before Josh Davey left a straight one to leave Hampshire needing just one run for victory.
It wasn't just his wickets that proved important in the game, as a crucial innings of 36 helped Hampshire claim a small but very handy lead.
