Hampshire’s Pre-Season Calendar Confirmed

Hampshire’s pre-season calendar has been confirmed, with both the men’s and women’s squads heading off for warmer pastures in March and five pre-season friendlies ahead of the County Championship and Women’s Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Women’s Pre-Season

Hampshire Women will go on their first-ever pre-season tour this year.

They will visit Desert Springs in Spain from 18^th to 24^th March

The tour gives the squad valuable warm-weather preparation on high-quality grass pitches ahead of two pre-season 50-over friendlies.

The first is away to Warwickshire on Wednesday 1^st April before a trip to Taunton to play Somerset on Tuesday 7^th April, with the Metro Bank One Day Cup getting underway at Utilita Bowl against Essex on Saturday 11^th April.

Men’s Pre-Season

Hampshire Men have had a busy winter with a training camp in Delhi from 5^th to 12^th February, focusing on playing spin.

They will then head off to Stellenbosch in South Africa where the squad will meet up with new Head Coach Russell Domingo and Bowling Coach Shane Burger for the first time as a group.

The tour will run from 4^th to 15^th March before coming back to the UK for three two-day pre-season friendlies.

Middlesex and Gloucestershire come to Utilita Bowl on 20-21^st and 24-25^th March respectively before Ben Brown’s side travel along the south coast to play Sussex at Hove on 28^th and 29^th March, with the first County Championship match taking place at Utilita Bowl on Friday 3^rd April against Essex.
