Have A Photo With The 2022 Vitality Blast And Charlotte Edwards Cup Trophies

Hampshire begin their 2022 Royal London Cup campaign at The Ageas Bowl this Friday when they face Worcestershire Rapids (11am start).

The opening day of a new competition is always special but this Friday’s match promises to be extra special as fans in attendance at the fixture will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with both the 2022 Vitality Blast and Charlotte Edwards Cup trophies – won by Hampshire Hawks and Southern Vipers respectively.

The Vipers’ picked up the first trophy of the 2022 summer by winning the Charlotte Edwards Cup, named after their own head coach. After winning all six of their group games, they qualified automatically for the final at Northamptonshire and again showed their quality to beat Central Sparks by six wickets. The win gave the Vipers their first domestic trophy in the T20 format, and saw Charlotte Edwards united with the trophy named in her honour.

Following the Vipers’ success, the Hawks then won silverware in the form of 2022’s Vitality Blast. Though they lost their opening four games, James Vince’s side bounced back in incredible fashion to win nine of their remaining ten group games to qualify in fourth place. A big win at Edgbaston against Birmingham Bears in the quarter-final secured a place at Finals Day and set up a repeat of 2021’s semi-final with Somerset. The Hawks gained revenge on the side who put an end to their T20 hopes in 2021 before they went up against the impressive Lancashire Lightning in the final. An unforgettable match followed with the Hawks lifting the trophy in scarcely-believable fashion.

Both trophies will be available for fans to pose alongside once gates open on Friday (up until the start of the match) and during Friday’s lunch interval.
