Hampshire Women look to bounce back against Durham in the next round of fixtures in the Metro Bank One Day Cup
Hampshire Cricket have announced that all-rounder Ian Holland has signed a permanent deal with Leicestershire, having spent the majority of the season so far on loan at the Uptonsteel County Ground.
Holland, who has represented USA in both ODIs and IT20s, joined Hampshire on the recommendation of former captain Dimitri Mascarenhas who he had met in Melbourne during 2015.
He made his Hampshire debut in June 2017 against Warwickshire, scoring 32 and taking the wicket of former England wicket-keeper batter Tim Ambrose.
The American international finished the 2017 season with 19 First-Class wickets and 234 runs from nine matches in a positive start to his career on the south coast.
During the truncated 2020 season, Holland picked up his career best bowling figures of 6-60 against Surrey at Arundel Castle Cricket Club. The medium pacer was Hampshire’s standout bowler in the Bob Willis Trophy, taking 17 wickets at an average of just 17.
Overall, he played 111 times across all formats for Hampshire, scoring over 3,000 runs and taking 137 wickets.
He has spent the majority of the 2024 season on loan with Leicestershire and now will join the Midlands side on a permanent deal.
I will always be grateful to Hampshire for the opportunity to come from Australia and play county cricket in England.
Ian Holland
Thank you to my teammates, the coaches & support staff and to the fans - it was an honour to represent the rose & crown and I will always look back fondly on such an enjoyable chapter in my life.
Hampshire will always hold a special place in my heart and I wish nothing but success for the club moving forward.
It has been a pleasure working with Ian over the years; he has been a player that always puts the team first.
Giles White, Director of Cricket

We wish him well in the next phase of his career and thank him for everything he has done for the Club, both on and off the field.
