James Fuller Signs Hampshire Contract Extension

Experienced all-rounder joined Hampshire in 2018

James Fuller has signed a contract extension with Hampshire Cricket keeping him at The Ageas Bowl until the end of the 2023 season.

The experienced all-rounder has become an important member of the squad since joining Hampshire in 2018, featuring regularly across all formats.

It’s a great feeling. The Ageas Bowl is a place I really like playing, it’s got everything you need. But even more so, we’ve got a great squad and I feel like everything is lining up at the moment and I’m really happy to have extended my contract.

James has the ability to change games and has shown that across the formats since he joined. He’s become a really popular member of the squad and we are pleased that he has agreed to continue his journey with us.

Hampshire Director of Cricket, Giles White

Fuller made an immediate impact upon arriving at The Ageas Bowl featuring across all three formats during his first full season in 2019. He scored nearly 400 runs and took 15 wickets whilst cementing a middle-order batting slot and middle-overs bowling role.

His contributions helped Hampshire reach a second successive List A final at Lord’s, in which he hit an unbeaten 55.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a truncated 2020 domestic season, it was certainly one to remember for Fuller as he became the 15th player to record a hat-trick for Hampshire with an incredible spell against Surrey in the Bob Willis Trophy.

A positive Vitality Blast campaign followed hot-on-the-heels of that red-ball performance, as he topped the list of Hampshire run-getters in last summer’s Vitality Blast.

Fuller was a mainstay in Hampshire's white ball squads during the 2021 season. The all-rounder scored over 300 runs combined in T20 and One Day cricket.

The best way to catch James and the rest of the Hampshire squad in action all year long in 2022 is with a Hampshire Cricket Membership.

2022 Members also receive access to an exclusive allocation of tickets for next summer’s otherwise sold-out Vitality IT20s at The Ageas Bowl with England facing both India and South Africa at the venue next summer, alongside a whole host of other exciting benefits.
