The Ageas Bowl, the home of Hampshire Cricket and Hilton Southampton – The Ageas Bowl are recruiting for a full-time Graphic Designer. The role is a terrific opportunity for a graphic design graduate to join the iconic sports and leisure destination and design and amend the venue’s digital, social and print graphic output.
The successful candidate will join the venue’s Commercial Team and work across all of the The Ageas Bowl’s business units, including: Hampshire Cricket, Hilton Southampton – The Ageas Bowl, BEEFY’S Restaurant, eforea spa, Boundary Lakes Golf Course, Southern Vipers and Hampshire Cricket in the Community.

Job Title: Graphic Designer

Location: The Ageas Bowl
Job Purpose
To design and amend the venue’s digital, print and social graphic output to support the marketing, sales and operational objectives of the The Ageas Bowl while managing and reporting on the venue’s formal briefing and sign-off process.
The role would see assets created, adapted and amended for all of the venue’s business units, including, but not limited to, Hampshire Cricket, Hilton Southampton – The Ageas Bowl, BEEFY’S Bar & Restaurant, eforea spa, Boundary Lakes Golf Course, Southern Vipers and Hampshire Cricket in the Community.
Typical day-to-day tasks are likely to include, but are not limited to, the design of; posters, brochures, presentations, flyers, programmes, banners, web graphics, menus, social media graphics, print adverts, digital collateral, outdoor advertising sites, infographics and newsletters.
Key Responsibilities
Create and output engaging design content for print, digital and social platforms
Ensure all jobs are formally briefed in, worked on and signed-off in line with venue’s strict design process
Ensure all design aligns with the brand guidelines to the business unit/product for which it relates
Edit, amend and output pre-existing artwork and creative
Edit, amend and output prescribed creative from third parties – e.g. ECB, Hilton or BEEFY’S
Create new designs and creative themes from scratch where required
Act as guardian of venue’s brand guidelines and develop guidelines where necessary
Liaise with paid-for media to ensure outputted design work (both print and digital) matches the required specifications
Liaise with print agencies to obtain quotes for production and to ensure outputted work is suitable once quote is approved
Liaise with digital and CRM agencies to ensure any outputted designs are suitable to be featured online and in email
Liaise with internal departments and contacts to ensure jobs are completed in priority order and on time
Managing and scheduling the venue’s design requirements in collaboration with the commercial department
Managing the venue’s portal/database of design work, original artwork and images, compartmentalised by department/business unit
Any other duties as required. The nature of which will be defined and dictated by the changing requirements of the business.

Skills & Competencies
A degree in graphic design
A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar role/position
Experience using and knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop essential
Experience using and knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects desirable
Confident working across print, digital and social platforms
Creative with keen eye for detail
Excellent communication skills
Product knowledge - An understanding of the sport, leisure and hospitality industries
Key team player. The ability to work as a member of a dynamic team.
High levels of initiative and ability to work independently as required.
Efficient and organised. Solid administration base to ensure reliable and accurate delivery
Ability to work to a brief and excellent time management skills, working to tight deadlines
