Job Type: Fixed Term Contract - Six Weeks (July-August 2018) Full-Time (Self-Employed Basis)

Southern Vipers Cricket Team are seeking applications from competent musculoskeletal physiotherapists currently working or progressing towards a physiotherapy career in Sport.

If successful, the post holder will secure a six-week full-time fixed term contract providing medical provision to some of the best female cricketers in the world.

The Southern Vipers are a professional women’s Twenty20 cricket team based in Hampshire, with a squad comprised of both locally developed and international professional female players, that compete in the annual Kia Super League competition. 

The Vipers won the inaugural KSL competition in 2016, and followed this up with a runners up place in 2017. Behind their success is the support of an experienced coaching team and as part of this network, the Vipers seek a lead physiotherapist to provide medical support to the team through their 2018 Kia Super League competition.

The role will be supported by medical staff at Hampshire Cricket, and will include ECB doctor support, and access to the facilities at the The Ageas Bowl, the home of Hampshire Cricket.


Job Description

To succeed in the role you would need excellent clinical skills and some experience in the provision of physiotherapy to elite athletes/high performing teams. Previous experience of working within cricket is desirable but not essential. The successful applicant will have a proven track record of working effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

You must have qualification and registration as a Chartered Physiotherapist, and preferably a post-graduate qualification in Sports Physiotherapy/Medicine. You should be flexible towards working schedules and willing to travel extensively within the UK.

Requirements

This is a fixed term 6-week contract, where you will work full-time between the dates of 16th July 2018 to 27th August 2018. This will include some evening and weekend work in this period.
