Hampshire confirm their men's Academy cohort for 2025-26 with nine players awarded a place on the programme
John Turner has been selected by the 2022 champions Trent Rockets for The Hundred in the Vitality Wildcard Draft, following his impressive Vitality Blast performances for Hampshire Hawks so far this year.
The 22-year-old has had a breakthrough season in the T20 competition, making his debut during the Hawks win over Middlesex at Radlett – where he took 3-30.
Since then, Turner has been a revelation for the reigning Vitality Blast champions. In his nine matches so far, he has racked up a total of 18 wickets at an average of 11.11, with an economy rate of just 6.66.

His best figures came during the Hawks’ final group match against Gloucestershire as he took three wickets and conceded only 15 runs from his four overs.
Turner was picked by the Rockets in the Wildcard Draft alongside Nottinghamshire’s Tom Moores and joins a squad that already includes the likes of Rashid Khan, Alex Hales and Dawid Malan, as well as fellow Hawk Brad Wheal.
Trent Rockets will play in the opening match of this year’s competition as they welcome Southern Brave to Trent Bridge on Tuesday 1st August.
